The World Small Hydropower Development Report 2016 was launched in Hangzhou, China on November 1st during The 7th Hydropower for Today Forum organized by the International Center on Small Hydropower (ICSHP). Mr. Chen Lei, Minister of Water Resources of the People’s Republic of China, and Mr. Philippe Scholtes, Managing Director of Programme Development and Technical Cooperation (PTC) at UNIDO, presented the report to author representatives from 5 continents during the launching ceremony.
The World Small Hydropower Development Report is a collaborative effort by UNIDO and ICSHP, as well as the great support by MWR/China, 230 experts and scholars from around the globe. It was first published in 2013 in response to the urgent need for a reference publication on small hydropower for decision makers, stake-holders and investors. The 2016 version has a larger scope, rich in content and accurate in presentation. It includes 160 country and 20 regional reports and a more comprehensive overview of relevant policy landscapes.
